geeze it isn;t that bad.

Metalcore, Deathcore, Grindcore, and Hardcore.. if you didn’t cringe just yet then your probably one of the many that enjoy, or don’t totally dispise these genres. It’s pretty crazy how much people don’t like these genres, well mainly talk from youtube but really… I just like how br00tal they sound, and yet some of the lyrics are.. I don’t want to say emo, but you get what I’m saying. It seems as if a lot of the ‘metalheads’ don’t like this type of music because its gay or whatever, but it isn’t all that bad. I personally like Death, heavy, all that kinds of metal, but I have no problem with this ‘core’ stuff coming out, or the fact that they’re beginning to get ever so popular.
When I listen to stuff like Iron Maiden, Megadeth, Metallica, Slayer, all that stuff, its like I can sit down and listen to it. With stuff like Emmure, Job For A Cowboy, Parkway Drive, Dispised Icons, and Ion Dissonance, I have the urge to stand up and go crazy. If the Guitar (mainly Ion Dissonance and Dispised Icons.. oh and Beneath The Massacre to name a few) and Drum work doesn’t appeal to you, then you might want to listen to it one more time. If its the lyrics that you don’t like, or maybe the screaming/growling/pig squealing you don’t like then theres not much I can do so you like it. I think its good that this new stuff is
coming out, only because theres so many new bands popping up all over the place and its just different music in general. I know that there was those older ‘core’ bands.. or maybe they were gore grind, but whatever.. I think those are awesome too. Even if you CANNOT understand a word their saying sometimes, I think their trying to paint a picture saying ‘GRRR GET ANGRY.’
Maybe the reason I like it is because I want people to think I’m hardcore? Nah not that. Most metalheads think that ’scene’ kids or just whoever in general listen to ‘core’ music so they look hardcore, and in actuality maybe some do think that way. I guess that goes to show that Megadeth, Metallica, Slayer, and all those other Metal bands aren’t as hardcore to today’s society than it was maybe 10-20 years ago. I’m not trying to put do
wn Thrash Metal or the 80’s Metal in any way, because I myself love’em.. but what I’m trying to say is old bands aren’t getting any newer, and its time to move on? Again, I’m not saying that the older bands are dead (well maybe Metallica and their St. Anger [jk]) because Megadeths latest album, United Abominations, was pretty awesome IMO.. and Metallica is coming out with a new album sometime soon.. I guess the moral of my blog is that you really shouldn’t put down something new and hold on to something old, you’ll eventually end up listening to some of these bands later on and possibly say to yourself ‘ why didn’t I like this earlier?!’
And I guess this comes to something else; Don’t let anyone tell you what kind of music you need to listen to. For example, I’m not a big ‘Mainstream’ rock fan, so yeah I ocassionally say ‘dude thats lame.’ but I don’t like to say ‘if you don’t listen to hardcore then I hate you and your life.’ Because I really think everyone has their own style. Another thing is that, in Hawaii (where I live), a lot of people love reggae music. I knew a couple of guys that would call me gay or homo because all they believed in was ‘rasta’ and ‘ganja’, they also believe that ‘hip hop/rap and reggae is all you need’ (two very irritating music genres over a long period of time.) If it wasn’t for people wanting to like something other than the ‘in’ music, then you wouldn’t get Thrash Metal, or any of the ‘cores’ either. You should just listen to what you want, and let others listen to what they want. If people like emo, then hell let them love emo! don’t hate them for it.
